Mrs Jody Nelson-Gleeson

Jody Nelson-Gleeson is a passionate community advocate, experienced leader and the President of AgShows NSW. Born and raised in Sydney, with strong family ties to rural Australia, Jody and her husband relocated to the Mid North Coast of New South Wales where they continue to operate a commercial angus beef cattle property alongside a much-loved herd of donkeys.

Alongside her professional career as a Commercial Assets Manager, Jody has dedicated countless volunteer hours to strengthening not-for-profit organisations and rural communities. Her commitment to agricultural shows has seen her serve in a wide range of leadership and governance roles, contributing to strategic planning, organisational reform, policy development and committee leadership. In recognition of her outstanding community service, Jody was honoured as the 2019 Hastings Heroine.

Throughout her volunteer career, Jody has worked across agricultural shows, sporting organisations, resilience initiatives, local government and the emergency services sector. She has also supported communities affected by drought and flooding and has mentored privately owned showgrounds across New South Wales, sharing practical governance and operational knowledge to help build stronger, more sustainable organisations.

As President of AgShows NSW, Jody is committed to leading with integrity, collaboration and transparency. She believes the strength of the agricultural show movement lies in its volunteers and local communities, and is passionate about ensuring they are supported through strong governance, innovation, education and meaningful member services.

Jody is focused on building a contemporary and sustainable future for AgShows NSW while honouring the traditions that have made agricultural shows the heart of regional communities for generations. She is dedicated to working alongside the Board, staff, member societies and industry partners to ensure agricultural shows continue to thrive as places where agriculture, education, competition and community come together.

Proudly representing the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Jody remains firmly connected to the grassroots show movement and is committed to advocating for every member society across the state, regardless of size or location.
