Thu 10th to Sat 12th March 2022
COONABARABRAN SHOW MEDIA RELEASE 20th JANUARY 2021 After much deliberation by the Coonabarabran Show committee at our January meeting, preliminary consultation with the Agricultural Societies Council and NSW Health guidelines, the Coonabarabran Show committee has made the difficult decision to not go ahead with our Annual Show scheduled for Saturday 13th March 2021. This was not an easy decision to make, as we were positive that when COVID-19 restrictions were eased late last year we would be able to continue with the Show. However, the Christmas clusters and community transmissions along with the constantly changing NSW Health requirements to run our Show, make it a difficult task for us to proceed. We need to abide by the NSW Government guidelines, including the Service NSW Covid-19 Safety Plan – Regional Agricultural Shows. The compliance of social distancing requirements, and COVID-Safe plans for the Show and each section was going to be difficult to manage. We know that many of you will be disappointed, however, our patrons, competitors and volunteer’s health and safety should come first. This is a priority for our community, and we do not intend to place anyone’s health at risk. We would like to acknowledge the continuing support from our Sponsors, Stewards, competitors, exhibitors, key stakeholders, volunteers and all who work so hard towards providing our local community with your Annual Show. We appreciate your patience as we undertake the task of contacting everyone and we want to thank the community for their ongoing support. We also encourage the greater community to support the other shows in our shire that will continue to go ahead this year. Binnaway – 27th Feb, Mendooran – 20th March, and Baradine Show – 27th March - are all within a short drive from Coonabarabran and would make a great day out for the family. We look forward to working toward a bigger & better show in 2022.
