Show History
The Albury and Murray River Agricultural and Horticultural Society, formed on March 3, 1857, was among Australia’s earliest show societies. Renamed in 1877 as the Albury and Border Pastoral, Agricultural and Horticultural Society, it later became the Albury Show Society in 1977. The first show, held on March 13, 1857, featured farm and dairy produce, vegetables, fruit and wines. A stock show followed on November 24, exhibiting sheep, horses, pigs and cattle.
