Empowering a network of 190 Agricultural Show Societies through strategic leadership and collaborative governance.
AgShows NSW is built on a collaborative and representative model that ensures every Agricultural Show Society across the state has a voice. From the grassroots through to the Boardroom, our structure champions local communities while ensuring strategic alignment across New South Wales.
AgShows NSW represents 190 local Show Societies, grouped into 15 regions—14 geographical Groups and a dedicated Next Generation Group. Each Group elects two Delegates who serve as Directors on the Board. Our Constitution allows for up to 40 Directors in total.
These Directors then elect the President, two Vice Presidents, Honorary Treasurer, and Honorary Secretary, who lead the organisation in service of our Members.
The Board provides strategic oversight, governance, and advocacy on behalf of all Member Societies. It sets the direction and priorities of AgShows NSW, representing both local and statewide interests.
Day-to-day operations are led by a Staff based in Sydney and the regions, comprising skilled staff who provide direct support, coordination, and operational leadership across our programs and services.
To ensure effective governance, AgShows NSW operates through several purpose-driven Committees:
- Competitions Committee
With subcommittees for Horses and Wheat, oversees the integrity and development of statewide competitions. - Education & Innovation Committee
Drives initiatives to support members through training, resources and new ideas. - Compliance Committee
Ensures adherence to regulations, industry standards and legislative requirements. - Commercial Committee
Focuses on financial sustainability, commercial partnerships, and showground-related matters. - Other Committees:
Includes the Governance Committee overseeing the internal operations, Constitution Committee for constitutional review, and Disciplinary Committee & Panels convened as required to uphold integrity within competitions.
Through this inclusive and strategic structure, AgShows NSW strengthens its capacity to advocate, govern, and support Agricultural Shows and their volunteers across the state. Every Member Society benefits from a unified network that listens, leads, and delivers for rural and regional communities.
