Narromine Show

The Narromine Agricultural Association was formed in November 1900. First secretary R.W. Webb was prophetic when he told the inaugural meeting that starting a show was like taking a wife-after you got a wife, you found that there were a lot of things you should have had first. The new association "lapsed into somnolence" after its formation and it was six years before it got its first show in May, 1906. The association had been revived in 1905, with D. Fitch as first president, R. Kelk, secretary, and M. Dunn, treasurer. The 1906 show was noted for an outstanding display of draught horses and the ring events were of a high standard.
