Temora Show

The Temora Pastoral, Agricultural, Horticultural and Industrial Association (now the Temora Show Society) was formed in 1885 and an area of about 26 acres of Crown land dedicated as a showground in 1886. A further 26 acres were added to the area in later years. The first association president was William James Cartwright. The Temora Night Trotting Control Board was formed in 1962 and staged the first meeting under lights on a new track on the showground the same year. Many new pavilions and amenities have been added to Temora Showground over the years, thanks mainly to grants and loans from the Racecourse Development Committee and the Lands Department.
